Fabric Composition
Unlike cotton polos, Jerseys are made almost entirely of advanced synthetic materials:
100% Recycled Polyester: The main body is composed of high-performance polyester fibers. This material is chosen for its extreme lightness and ability to resist sweat absorption.
Mesh Inserts: Side or back panels often feature a honeycomb texture to maximize ventilation in areas of high body heat.
Technical Features
dryCELL Technology: This is Puma's trademark for breathable fabrics. The fiber structure is designed to transport moisture to the outside of the garment, where it can evaporate quickly.
Heat-Sealed Logos: To minimize weight and maximize aerodynamics and comfort, all logos (Mercedes, Petronas, secondary sponsors) are heat-transferred rather than embroidered. This prevents skin irritation during physical activity.
Performance Fit: The jersey has a more fitted cut than casual pieces, designed to follow the body's movements without resistance.
Aesthetic Details (Black Version)
Black Base: The primary color is deep black.
Silver and Petronas Green Details: Features piping or thin stripes in the team's iconic colors along the shoulders or sides.
Sublimation Printing: In some versions, graphic patterns (such as the Mercedes star motif) are integrated directly into the fabric via sublimation printing, which doesn't weigh down the material or fade.
Care Instructions: Since the jersey is 100% polyester with heat-sealed prints, it's essential to avoid ironing the logos directly and wash the garment on a cold cycle. The use of fabric softener is not recommended, as it can clog the pores of the technical fabric, reducing its breathability.
